Spending a Day in the Forest - Foraging Wild Strawberries

- Posted in YouTube by

Foraging is an amazing experience - you go for a walk in the forest, and if you are lucky, you find something delicious that you can bring home. Nature is that incredible, we just have to return to our roots and try to be more self-sufficient instead of running to the shop for everything.

One of the most delicious things to forage is wild strawberries. This year they are a bit late because the winter was very long. When we bought our house, we did not know that it’s close to a chestnut forest where so many things grow and can be foraged - chestnuts, mushrooms, hazelnuts, berries, and so many herbs. Practically from early spring to late autumn, there is always something that can be found. In this video we took our camera on our trip to forage wild strawberries. We have found few places (our secret spots) where they usually grow, and we just have to be on time, before someone cuts the grass. These small forest fruits are full of flavor and are our favorites. We love them for dessert with ice cream, and they also make one of the best homemade jams that definitely deserves spending a few hours in the forest in search of wild strawberries. This is an experience you cannot buy from the grocery store and creates unforgettable family memories.

Watch this episode to see how many strawberries we foraged for few hours and how we rewarded ourselves for this hard work ;). Don’t forget to subscribe to our channel if you are into foraging and self-sufficiency. We appreciate all positive likes and comments and your support.
