Our Way to Become Self-sufficient - June Harvest

- Posted in YouTube by

Following our dream to become self-sufficient, we are developing our garden project, planting many different vegetables, just to see what we can grow on our land. After so many years living in a flat, having a place where we can grow our food is a huge change and also a huge challenge to get used to all that hard physical work. :)

The land we bought is an ex-vineyard. Fortunately the vines were removed a long time ago, but the land has not been worked since, and it is overgrown by grass and weeds. Cleaning just a small patch of land and preparing it for the plants takes lots of time, but when you see the thriving plants after that, you know it was worth the effort. Because of the rising prices of all seedlings, we also start most of our veggies from seeds, but starting a plant from a tiny seed and watching it grow is amazing, and then harvesting the fruits of your hard work is absolutely rewarding. In June we started picking the fruits of our work, the first veggies that were ready—so exciting! Watch this episode to see what's in the garden, ready to be picked or dug. :) We hope our garden episodes inspire you to start your own veggie patch and find the difference between home-grown and store-bought food—it's huge! Try and see! Please, check our YouTube channel and subscribe if the Self-sufficient thing also matters to You!

Thanks for reading, and keep coming back! :)
