We are two Aquarius living in the Alps.
We got the keys to our new home in the autumn of 2022. We stayed for two weeks, locked the house, and left. It wasn’t suitable for living, not even imagining spending the cold winter here. We had to return to our rented flat and start making plans for the house renovation.
Our new home is in a small village surrounded by a beautiful forest. It’s the first snowfall since we moved here, and we are going on a walk. Nature looks magical -trees covered with snow, a peaceful and quiet forest.
In autumn we planted some hardy vegetables and left them covered, hoping this will protect them during the cold days. Then we left the house and came back in January for some house reconstruction work.
Our dream about having a house in Slovenia started in 2009. At that time we used to live in Spain, and once, travelling across Europe, we took a wrong way and entered Slovenia. We actually did not realise where we were, so we had to check on the map what this beautiful place we were crossing was.
