We have almost half a meter of snow after a very heavy snowfall. Yesterday it was snowing during the whole day, and it kept snowing at night. We had to make a way to our garden, cleaning lots of wet snow.
The garden is covered with a white blanket, and we have to find where our covered veggie beds are, trying to remove the heavy snow so it doesn’t crush the veggies. It’s freezing, but the garden looks so pretty!
We’ve never seen our land in winter before, it’s the first time we've stayed here in January. We came here because of the house renovation, which we continue inside the house, but our builder found a good excuse in the heavy snowfall not to come to work today. He has been testing our patience the last few days with on-and-off periods of work and absence. So we will enjoy the snow and a cup of tea, trying to warm up in our unheated house.
The next day the weather completely changed, and so did the landscape! The sun popped up, and we decided to jump in the car and show you the beauty of Slovenia in winter, driving through half a meter of snow on the Slovenian roads. We don’t know how and when they managed to clean even the small village roads, but it’s a pleasure to travel in Slovenia even in winter. It’s picturesque in all seasons, but on a day like this it looks like a fairy tail - the white snow shining like diamonds under the sunlight and trees bending under the heavy snow.
