Our Homegrown Cucumbers are Thriving this Year

- Posted in YouTube by

Nothing tastes better than homegrown veggies. July is the month when our garden is thriving. Most of the plants that we started from seeds grew enough, and we can harvest the fruits of our work.

Our cucumbers are really generous this year, and there is no day we go to the garden and not return with a full basket. This year except our favorite “Marketer” cucumbers we planted another variety especially for preserving, just because we really love them in winter. Marketer became our favorite last year, they are really delicious salad variety, and store really well in the fridge because their skin is a bit thicker. They also good for preserving, but the new variety we planted gives much smaller cucumbers that make great crunchy pickles. We hope we will make a few jars of them. The taste of the homegrown cucumbers is incomparable with the store-bought, which are usually heavily fertilized, and except they can cause you a stomachache, they cannot last in the fridge even 2-3 days. Not to mention the price of most vegetables, which gets higher and higher every year. So many good reasons to grow your own - tastier, fresher, and cheaper!
