The first time we saw our future home was in spring, and two things grabbed our attention: the stunning view of the valley and the lush green garden covered with flowers and shrubs. We can honestly say these two things made us buy the property, not the house itself, as it was visible it’s a big fixer. For the life change we wanted to make and the self-sufficient way of living we were after, we needed land, and this garden was on the top of our wish list. The fact that there were many established fruit trees and shrubs was great because developing a beautiful garden can take years.

Before buying and planting a shrub, it’s always a good idea to check if it is suitable for your garden conditions - climate, soil, moisture, and companion plants.
